This beautiful used clarinet is a Buffet Academy Model instrument. The 50588 serial number is present on both the upper and lower joint, and the Buffet Academy model logo is visible on all parts. Although not much is known about this particular model, it gets a sweet tone and is quite free-blowing. The keys are made of solid German silver, polished to a shine. There are a few nicks and surface imperfections in the finish, but no cracks in the wood body. Two of the tenon corks have been replaced, and there are many new pads as well. Due to several scratches on the Vandoren mouthpiece, the particular model number is no longer visible. However, the facing is clean and it sports a Bonade inverted ligature. It comes in a retro Buffet case that has some scuffing and a gouge on the outside, and significant soiling and wear in the interior lining. Included are a new swab and cork grease.
